Doctors have developed their code of ethics code in the Hippocratic Oath , it is the shared view of their approach, summarized in words.
Inspired by the Belgian version of it, I have phrased my take on how I fulfil my life to my best abilities in an oath (code of ethics) .
"Now I join the guild of life-artists, I promise to be of service, to my best ability, to the wellbeing of all involved in line with my highest understanding of living (together) in a rich fulfilling way containing: Peace, Pleasure and Harmoney .
I will shape my life consciously and conscientiously.
Above all, I'll care for freedom of choice and self-determination by shining the spotlight of my full undivided attention onto joy whenever I see an opportunity and in doing so, relieve suffering.
I will inform my fellow man calmly and properly of everything that I know or suspect that is relevant to their choice process.
I will keep to myself what is shared in confidence with me.
I will appreciate my teachers for what they have taught me.
I will continue to develop my talents, do not exceed the limits of my capabilities and where possible contribute to the advancement of human knowledge.
I will act responsibly with the resources that have been trusted to me and promote a dignified life that is accessible to everyone.
I will treat others collegially and respectfully.
I will ensure that my open attitude towards a human being is not influenced by a person's beliefs, political beliefs, social class, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, gender, sexual orientation, age, illness or disability.
I will honour life and everyone's truth and free choice.
Even under pressure, I will not use my knowledge for practices that go against humanity.
Whenever I experience inner conflicts and doubts on which approach would do most justice to all involved, I will ask the source of life itself for advice and guidance, The Knowing (The Collective Consciousness).
Every day, in every new "now", I give consciously and pro-active attention to what ‘is’ present in my energy fields ( in and around me) and wonder where I can invest my energy and my talents most effectively.
At the end of every day I check with myself where opportunities lie for me to shape the joy of living in ever more beautiful ways.
This I solemnly declare, of my own free will and on my word of honor. "
