ME-time trust fund
Esther Dageraad is the founder and ambassador for the 1U company ME-time trust fund.
The ME-time trust fund, gives grants up to 1200 Pound to people who are willing to invest time in themselves to break the cycle of frequently recurring depressive and anxious episodes. It is about restoring peace, trust and harmony in themselves and their relationships.
The 1U Company is entirely about serious play; about playful ways to re-discover your own power, about realising your own potential. No wonder that the grants are given as serious play money.
This is how it works:
Two people apply together for a contribution to their transformation challenge: from turbulence to harmony.
One (A) of them suffers from recurring break down periods, the other (B) doesn’t and is in almost every day a present, closely related ‘loved one’. Both describe their motivation to partake in this challenge in their application.
Then it’s play-time, based on the understanding:
“ A spoonful of downtime in regular breaks a day, keeps the breakdown big time away!”
The team agrees on a period of 6 weeks in which this challenge takes place and picks an evaluation date at the end of this period. The team agrees on the fine details of the challenge among themselves, suiting the situation they are in. However; the following are key elements:
(A) adds to his/her every day program taking regular 5 minute breaks, after (at least) 20 minutes of intense activity, 7 days a week.
Every single break that is taken, that fits the description of ME-time, get valued with 1 Pound Sterling, being put in a large pot.
If a major break down episode occurs, the pot gets emptied completely and the play goes on.
On evaluation day, (A) gets the whole content of the pot. He or she can spend it on anything he/she really desires.
Any leftover of the grant, goes back to the ME time trust fund.
Both players write about their experience to the ME time trust fund, also indicating what the money is put towards to.
The description of ME-time in this challenge:
– You disconnect from investing energy in the outside world. You do nothing for nobody else.
– You disconnect from the task at hand (You don’t pick up another task for the duration of the break.)
– You actually leave the situation.
– You don’t operate any devices
– You don’t eat or drink anything
– Preferably in touch with either nature, water, animals, fire, (sun)light
– Preferably completely relaxed or slowly moving
Status:
At the moment, Esther Dageraad is operating as ambassador for ME-time and laying the foundations for the ME-time trust fund to come into being out of the world of ideas.
Please contact Esther if you are sympathetic with the idea and in a position to contribute to realising this initiative.
